Amazon’s big deals event is being timed to coincide with the multinational strike action against them, so don’t get tempted when those start up

It’s on July 10th

The strikes were actually timed for the big deals event so when the high demand comes Amazon will realise how much it needs it workers.

Support the workers by NOT buying from Amazon until they accept their demands!

Also please don’t think you’re helping them by buying more stuff–Amazon knows it needs their workers, you’re only giving Bezos more cash if you buy off Amazon.

And it sends an even bigger message if you can cancel your Amazon Prime as well (I can’t because I already cancelled it a while back).

There are other big box stores you can buy from online. There are also a lot of small businesses you can support online if you take a little extra time to search for them.

Edit: Checking Amazon’s homepage, Prime Day is actually on the 16th. Not yet sure if the strike will start on that day or the 10th, but here’s a webpage that talks about the strike:

https://makeamazonpay.org/en/2018/05/17/call-to-all-amazon-workers-in-europe-in-july-a-european-strike/

This appears to be an attempt at a transnational European strike. So those of you in Europe will be able to help these workers most directly by boycotting Amazon, but I think it could still send a powerful message if people in other countries also do so in solidarity.
