Winners and Losers

Wanted to draw Alfred confronting the defeated Axis Powers after the end of WWII, and being as eerily flippant and cheery and overall stoked about victory, because what more could you want?

WWII and American Victory in the public mindset is always an uneasy thing to think about, since there’s the joy of the war ending obviously, but also a lot of nervousness when it comes to the consequences that comes afterwards. Also that American mindset that being the stock heroic “good guys” in a conflict against deserving terrifying and oppressive forces, automatically absolves us of any of our own wrongs and complicity during and after the war. :0
