Well, now you’ve successfully condemned Bum. Well done. Why would you tell someone who you think is abusing a “friend” that said friend is going to leave them for good? Why would you do that? That is not gonna end well for your ‘friend’. This is not standing up for your friend, this is sealing their fate.
