This Christmas, viewers in the UK will be able to watch a two hour long excerpt from the beautifully filmed slow TV show “Reindeer Migration 24/7”.

What both the Norwegian Broadcasting Company, as well as the BBC fail to mention, however, is that a majority of the reindeer that we get to follow will be forcibly slaughtered by the Norwegian state come New Year’s Eve. Not because they pose a threat to anyone, but because of a colonial law meant to strip the Saami of their right to self-governance, which has been imposed on territories that have never officially been ceded to the government of Norway (or any other colonial state currently occupying Sápmi, for that matter).

Despite the fact that the faith of Jovsset Ánte’s herd has been brought to the attention of the UN, the Norwegian government has decided to ignore the future outcome of these discussions, and they will instead go ahead with a decision that will, in short, strip a young Saami of his internationally recognised indigenous, human rights, which in turn will have a negative impact not only on his personal economy, but his mental health as well.

In short; Whilst this film of Jovsset Ánte’s herd is being used to promote tourism to Norway abroad, his entire future, livelihood and culture is at stake because of Norway’s still ongoing, brutal colonisation of Sápmi.

This whole NSFW situation is exactly like when America made alcohol illegal in the 1920s to combat rampant alcoholism and it 100% backfired and actually made people drink way MORE and actually made it more accessible. They realized what a mistake they had made and repealed that shit.

current issues with tumblr

  • go view your blog and you’ll see stuff from 2 years ago or six months ago mixed in with your most recent posts. go back further and you’ll start seeing recent posts out of order. every blog i’ve clicked on so far has had this glitch. it’s because when something is flagged and unflagged, it reposts to the top of your blog and gets pinned there.
  • some people have reported that drafts they made that got flagged got unflagged and posted without their permission. there have been quite a few reports of it so beware.
  • if you click on notifications for someone’s blog, the post will show as a ghost post because blogs are physically out of order now. time stamps are messed up, too.
  • some people are reporting that nsfw posts are the only thing that show up in their archive. some people are reporting that because blogs can no longer index nsfw, if you had anything in your archive that even mentioned it, it will mess up your entire blog.
  • you can still view people’s posts as normal on dash for the most part it seems? but viewing anywhere else is completely messed up if not impossible. on my blog you need to click back one page and you’ll start seeing my newer posts–but everything i made the day the ban was announced is pinned to the top of my blog, too.
  • all of this seems universal. it’s rolling out in waves so good luck lol.
  • the in-house export blog function doesn’t work for people with more than 2k posts. don’t bother.

staff You are recommending that I follow a nazi blog I blocked last night. Your site promotes anti-semitism to Jews. Your site shoves Nazi Swastikas in the faces of Jews. It’s bad enough that the Nazi blogs seem to be sprouting up like weeds on a site that claims to have an anti-hate policy, but to actively promote them to people who have taken the steps of blocking these blogs is beyond the pale. Clean this place up. It’s turning into Stormfront.

I encourage everyone who sees this post, Jewish or otherwise, to reblog it. Tumblr has been ignoring the growth of Nazism on this site for too long. It needs to end.
